Thinformation Products and Services
N.O.D.S®
The N.O.D.S.® (Network Operated Digital Signage) management system was invented entirely by skilled programmers at Thinformation to clear the final hurdle between digital signage and universal implementation. N.O.D.S.® re-invents sign management through heavy reliance on secure servers and a simple, Internet-based interface. Authorized users can connect from an Internet browser to update separate areas of the display as frequently as desired. By providing this powerful tool to our customers, Thinformation gives them the ability to control their signs safely, instantly and completely…from anywhere.
Content Design
Thinformation’s content design and management team will work closely with you to help produce the message your digital signage will convey. We can use a combination of pictures, video, graphics, animation, websites and text to help get your message across. Whether you have existing marketing campaigns or are going in a new direction, we will help to produce high-quality fresh content that will make your company proud. Unlike conventional signage, digital signage can be changed instantly. Through our content management system we can make seamless changes to your content being displayed. Different messages can be displayed at different times and days. At a restaurant, for instance, your specials may change daily. The content can be programmed to show the special for that day only on that day and the lunch special only during lunch.
Interactive Touch-Screen Kiosks
These interactive, informational displays deliver customer service, training and product information on demand. Touch-screen kiosks are perfect for a wide range of applications, and can be made so reliable that they eliminate the need for such resources as stand-alone information desks.
Website Design
Content generated by the skilled designers at Thinformation often can be integrated into an existing website with very little additional work. In addition, Thinformation has the resources to build and maintain a customer’s website from the ground up.
Digital Signage Elements
Flat Panel LCD Displays
Liquid-Crystal Displays (LCD’s) have become the dominant choice for small (10 to 32 inches) flat-panel monitors. They are starting to encroach on PDP territory with 40-, 42-, and 46-inch sizes coming to the market. They offer higher resolutions than plasma (1280 x 768 to 42 inches and 1920 x 1080 above that); provide bright images with good color saturation (much brighter than plasma), and consume about 20 percent less power than same-size plasma monitors.
On the downside, LCD monitors don’t have as wide a viewing angle, and their contrast is typically lower because of elevated black levels. Also, large LCD monitors (40 inches and up) command a substantial price premium over plasma, they are harder to manufacture. But there’s no risk of static image burn-in with LCD (although a different non-permanent effect, image persistence, has been observed).
Projectors
Microdisplay projection uses everything from small polysilicon LCD panels to large LCD panels, digital light processing (DLP) reflective devices, and liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) reflective devices. Typically, one or three imagers are used, along with a high-brightness lamp and either color filters or a spinning color wheel. Microdisplay rear-projection displays take up a bit more room, with the thinnest models requiring about seven inches of depth. But they can be configured into really large screens that cost much less than plasma and are currently unattainable with large LCD technology. There’s no risk of static image burn-in, but the lamp may have to be replaced frequently, sometimes in as little as 1,500 hours.
LED Screens
Light Emitting Diode or LED screen technology is evolving fast in the digital billboard arena. Manufacturing improvements made in color diodes made it possible for advertisers to utilize full color, video capable displays for outdoor and indoor billboard sized digital signage. Displays are pieced together to accommodate custom screen sizes as large as desired. LED displays consume less power and they are more resistant to extreme outdoor elements. Manufacturers of electronic billboards sales have increased 200% from last year. The larger LED screen sizes are pricier than LCD and plasma screen counterparts but as LED manufactures meet growing demand for billboard signage, the costs will continue to decline in the near future.
